In his recent visit to Sweden, Pope Francis claimed that “the identity card” of Christians can be found in the Beatitudes from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. In this program, we will look at the Beatitudes—what did they mean for first century followers of Jesus and what do they mean for those who are called “to confront the troubles and anxieties of our age with the spirit and love of Jesus?”
